Engaged!

Well, haven’t I been a lazy so-and-so not blogging. For those of you I don’t know on facebook, it’s been quite busy for me lately.

Me and my other half Graham recently got engaged, we went away to a seriously swish hotel and had the most fantastic time (which Graham blogged about).

The ring is gorgeous - it’s 18 ct white gold with a round shape third ct diamond. Graham picked it himself and it’s beautiful - it’s the exact type of thing I would pick!!! After the weekend, I got into work on Monday and all my female friends at work went crazy!! I’ve managed to get some volunteers for attending wedding fairs etc with me which is fantastic!!

Graham and I bought a couple of books on the subject - including a wedding etiquette book!! I have no idea about planning weddings at all and while most girls probably think (before ANY proposal) “I’d do {this} for my wedding”, it’s not something I’ve ever done so I’m starting at scratch really…but it seems I will have all the help I need which is cool.

Roomba

I’m quite sure - for the very first time ever, I’ve actually found a gadget I would find useful - in the proper sense of the word.

It’s called Roomba and is a robotic programmable automatic hoover that has sensors built in to avoid crashing into things, falling and can even find it’s own charging station. Now I remember when these came out in America and they weren’t sold here and the reviews that I read weren’t so great, but now it’s been through a few versions and has wicked reviews on Amazon and for the first time I have actually found a gadget that is unusual AND useful. And isn’t just about playing video or surfing the web.

I wanted one when they first came out hehe and still do now hehe. I don’t think Graham isn’t so enthusiastic - not surprising though - housework gadgets isn’t something he would be into I guess! It’s about time though that gadgets came out that would be more useful than watching a film in your car or directing you to Tescos…Don’t you think?

Well Nothing Much Happened Lately…

I moved office at work - moving office is hellish isn’t it? All settled in now - phone line connected too!!! but it completely disrupted my regular work

In other news, I’m starting the intermediate swim lessons soon - heyho - if I’m going to swim I may as well do it competely properly. I’m starting them tomorrow and really looking forward to it. Got a really good instructor. She’s taught the most anti-swimming person to swim - she really has performed a miracle

And…ALSO learning to drive too!! It’s all go here. Had my first lesson yesterday…and errr…I managed to start the car and drive in a straight line. In.a.nutshell I didn’t crash. I suppose I will feel more confident in further weeks.

Swimming

Ok….so I’ve been learning to swim the last few weeks. I never learnt it as a kid, so thought at 25 I’d better get to it, let’s face it, if I’m going to go on sun sea and sand hols to sunny places then I’d better be able to use the pool I pay for for in my hol eh?

So I’ve been learning at Southampton University Sports Centre and it’s been going well. Least I won’t drown anymore so that’s a bonus.
