Spring is here

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 | Uncategorized | No Comments

I love spring. The evenings are so light - means I don’t go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. The trees down my street are starting to get their first green buds on them which is nice… though some never really totally lost all of last years leaves to be honest!

In other news - congratulations!

My younger brother - the peircing king

My brother has just webcam-ed me. Showing me his lip and eyebrow piecing. I think I’ll just say ewwww.

BUT for those of you who didn’t know me back in my uni days - I did once have an extra piercing at the top of my left ear - can still feel it slightly actually - how rebellious of me eh?!! hehe, I swear it was in fashion back then - honest guv!! Anyway, I dread to think what my new employer would say if I still had it!

New job and other things

So last week was my first week in my new job.
On my first day I got to have a look around with my department, a brand new research ship that has just been built. It’s all shiny and new.
The stuff I’m going to be doing here seems really interesting, I met loads of new people, and as I know exactly what I’m like with remembering names, it may take me a while to get used to all the new people!!

Next week the people I used to work with are coming for a visit. I am planning on showing them the view from the canteen in the building I work in of the ship. It’s ace.
I’ve been assigned to 2 projects, one which I’m continuing from someone else, and another which is a database/PHP system which I can design from scratch myself, which is brilliant. I like having that sort of free reign on new things.

On other fronts – Graham has given up WoW (World of Warcraft) for a week. He said he got really angry with someone on there and didn’t like how annoyed he got. He’s given me the password to the – get this – parental controls – hehehe. Think I might have to change my PC password so he can’t get to the password this week – muhahahahaha!!! I wonder if his break will last all week?

Before I started my new job, I was on holiday, the Isle of Wight was really good.
It was great to get away for a full week and have a proper break. We went with Graham’s Mum and Dad. The boat was rather an interesting ride – never been on the Isle of Wight Ferry. I took loads of lovely pictures which I might get sorted and stick online soon when I have the inclination to sit down and sort through the photos. I took rather a lot.
