New job and other things

So last week was my first week in my new job.
On my first day I got to have a look around with my department, a brand new research ship that has just been built. It’s all shiny and new.
The stuff I’m going to be doing here seems really interesting, I met loads of new people, and as I know exactly what I’m like with remembering names, it may take me a while to get used to all the new people!!

Next week the people I used to work with are coming for a visit. I am planning on showing them the view from the canteen in the building I work in of the ship. It’s ace.
I’ve been assigned to 2 projects, one which I’m continuing from someone else, and another which is a database/PHP system which I can design from scratch myself, which is brilliant. I like having that sort of free reign on new things.

On other fronts – Graham has given up WoW (World of Warcraft) for a week. He said he got really angry with someone on there and didn’t like how annoyed he got. He’s given me the password to the – get this – parental controls – hehehe. Think I might have to change my PC password so he can’t get to the password this week – muhahahahaha!!! I wonder if his break will last all week?

Before I started my new job, I was on holiday, the Isle of Wight was really good.
It was great to get away for a full week and have a proper break. We went with Graham’s Mum and Dad. The boat was rather an interesting ride – never been on the Isle of Wight Ferry. I took loads of lovely pictures which I might get sorted and stick online soon when I have the inclination to sit down and sort through the photos. I took rather a lot.
